Q. What does an advertisement cost me?
A. We offer 3 advertising packages. All of these packages run 2 weeks from the moment we Approve and Publish your ad and expires automatically.
- Confidence: Text Only. Runs 2 Weeks at R75.
- Standard: Text + 1 Picture. Runs 2 Weeks at R150.
- Maximum Response: Text + 2 Pictures. Runs 2 Weeks at R225.
Q. Can I change my ad after it is published?
A. Once we approve and publish your Ad , it can't be edited.
Arbitration, Monitoring and Policing.
Q. Will Clocktrader intervene in case a transaction goes wrong?
A. Clocktrader is not a party to any transaction between buyers, sellers and/or swoppers and cannot involve itself therein.
Banner Advertizing.
Q. Do I have to be a member to advertise in the banner space
A. No, anyone, private or trade may apply to Clocktrader to advertise in one of our banner spaces. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Membership.
Q. Do I have to pay to be a member?
A. No, membership is free. You only pay to Place an Ad.
Q. What do i have to do to become a member?
A. Simply register. Any person or party, PRIVATE OR TRADE, may become a member.
Q. What are the benefits of becoming a member?
A. Only members can advertise.
Selling or Swopping:
Q. How do I advertise to Sell or Swop then?
A. Its a straightforward, logical, step by step process.
- To Sell:
- Create an Account
- Go to Place an Ad
- We will approve the ad and activate it within 24 hours.
- Ad expires in 2 weeks from the moment we publish it.
- To Swop:
- Create an Account
- Go to Swop
- Choose whether you Want a Clocktrader related product or Have a Clocktrader related product.
- We will approve the ad and activate it within 24 hours.
- Ad expires in 2 weeks from the moment we publish it.
Q. Why does Clocktrader approve my Ad before it is published?
A. Our work at Clocktrader is to create and maintain a marketplace for the effective trade of Clocks, Music Boxes, Watches and Parts thereof. The submission of your Ad will only be unsuccessful if we find that your advetisement contains material or suggestions that fall outside of these clear objectives.
Swop:
Q. What can I Swop on Clocktrader?
A. As you know, a Swop is when goods or services are exchanged for other goods or services rather than money. Example: Member Peter Prudent advertises his Mantel Clock to SWOP for any Pocket Watch dependent on the parties coming to an agreement.
Q. Can I Swop anything on Clocktrader?
A. Yes, as long as long as one of the parties to the SWOP has a product that falls within the categories of Clocks, Music Boxes, Watches or Parts of the abovementioned, is lawful and doesn't infringe on people or entities' common law rights .
Example: Member Jane Cool advertises her Vintage Motorcycle to SWOP for any Floor Clock dependent on the parties coming to agreement. OR, member Joe Wise advertises his Wrist Watch to SWOP for any holiday in Bantry Bay. BUT, member August Winter can't advertise his Sports car to SWOP for a Safari in Botswana.
Q. So Advertiser either Have a Clock, Music Box, Watch or Part thereof to Swop or Advertisers Want a Clock, Music Box, Watch or part thereof to Swop?
A. You've got it!

Q. What does this mean?
A. It describes the intent of Advertisers who HAVE a Clock, Music Box, Watch or Parts thereof.
In other words: These Advertisers HAVE IN POSSESSION a CLOCK, MUSIC BOX, WATCH or PARTS there of TO SWOP in exchange for anything else created or uncreated.
Example: Member Joe Wise advertises his Wrist Watch to SWOP for any holiday in Bantry Bay dependent on the parties coming to an agreement.
- Want to Swop:
Q. What does this mean?
A. It describes the intent of Advertisers who WANT a Clock, Music Box, Watch or Parts thereof.
In other words: These Advertisers WANT a CLOCK, MUSIC BOX, WATCH or PARTS there of TO SWOP in exchange for anything else created or uncreated they may be Advertising on this site.
Example: Member Jane Cool advertises her Vintage Motorcycle to SWOP for any Floor Clock dependent on the parties coming to an agreement.
- Swop with an advertiser or Buying:
Q. Do I need to register as a Member to Buy or to Swop with an advertiser?
A. No need to register! One only has to register if you want to Advertise. Simply contact the member using the details supplied by the member on the advertisement.
Valuations:
Q. Will Clocktrader Ltd. assist in valuing an item?
A. We suggest you contact your local jeweller or clockmaker in this regard. Unfortunately we cannot value or describe any items advertised on Clocktrader Ltd.
